Eat Your Greens


Are green vegetables the key to boundless energy, mental clarity and increased immunity?  Many nutritionists and scientists believe they are and there is much evidence to support the case. 

Leafy greens are loaded with vitamins, minerals, fibre, disease-fighting phytonutrients and alkalising properties. They are also rich in chlorophyll, the miraculous molecule that gives plants their green colour and acts as an oxygenator, blood cleanser and a powerful detoxifying agent in the liver, the colon and the entire digestive track. 

These powerful greens are specifically kale, spinach, beet greens, dandelion greens, swiss chard, collard greens, pak choi, mustard greens, broccoli, watercress and drak, leafy lettuces.  These are the true power houses of the plant world that offer you the greatest health benefits.

As you are aware the government recommends we consume 5 a day of fruit and veg.  However, a recent study reports that eating 7 a day brings far superior health benefits including longevity.  We think this is still too low and recommend our clients to eat 10-15 a day. 

It is time we banished all the beige processed foods from our cupboards, fridges and freezers and stocked up on the real stuff that is good for us, will provide us with energy, health and vitality and will ensure that weight management becomes easy.
