Recipe Of The Week - Salad Jar: Smoked Mackerel, Watercress, Dill And Bulgur Wheat


This salad gives you a healthy boost of omega-3’s, along with that fresh and delicious taste you’ll need mid-way through your day.

Serves 1


  • 50g bulgur wheat, cooked
  • 1 fillet smoked mackerel, broken into bite-sized pieces
  • 5 radishes, sliced
  • 50g watercress, trimmed, use sprigs
  • 2 sprigs dill, chopped
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 75g low-fat natural yoghurt
  • freshly ground black pepper


  1. Place the cooked bulgur wheat in the bowl/jar you plan to eat from. Add the smoked mackerel, radishes, watercress and dill.
  2. Drizzle over the oil and season with freshly ground black pepper. Finish off with your dollop of yoghurt.
  3. Eat straight away or have sealed, fresh and ready to hand when lunchtime arrives.
